Intuitive Energy Medicine (All Ages of Clients)

  • A New Client First Session includes:
    • an informed consent process.
    • discussion of your concerns or priorities for treatment
    • integrative health assessment (considering the dynamic interaction of physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and energetic components of your unique situation)
    • discussion of findings
    • treatment (if needed) using energetic modalities specific to your body and situation.
    • recommendations to support treatment goals which may include: energy medicine (self-treatment), meditative and/or reflective practices, or referral to another health practitioner’s service(s).
  • Follow up Sessions include: 
    • integrative health check-in of current issues or follow up from last session
    • treatment (if needed) using energetic modalities specific to your body and situation.
    • recommendations to support treatment goals, which may include: energy medicine (self-treatment), meditative and/or reflective practices, or referral to another health practitioner’s service(s).

 

Children’s Feeding Therapy

  • A New Client First Session (approximately 75 minutes) includes:
    • an informed consent process.
    • discussion of your concerns or priorities for treatment
    • comprehensive feeding assessment of physical, sensory, emotional, relational and environmental factors related to your child’s eating or drinking issues.
    • discussion of findings and proposed treatment plan
    • recommendations to support treatment goals and/or referral to another health practitioner’s service(s).
    • if time permits and your child is willing, feeding therapy may begin in this initial session.

*WHAT TO BRING TO THE FIRST SESSION*:

  • your child’s food and drink (preferred and non-preferred, include various food textures such as puree, easy to chew, harder to chew, if appropriate for your child’s stage of development)
  • any bottles, cups, spoons, etc. that are typically used to feed your child
  • any reports from past or current health providers (e.g., OT, SLP, results of swallow study, pediatric notes, etc.)
  • If you have any questions on how to prepare for this session, please contact Diane prior to the session.
  • Follow up feeding therapy sessions include:
    • direct treatment (feeding therapy) with your child, using an eclectic approach based on the work of leading therapists such as: Dr. Toomey (SOS Approach), Fraker, Walbert & Cox (Food Chaining), Ellyn Satter (Feeding Relationship), Marsha Dunn Klein (Get Permission Approach to Sensory Based Mealtime Challenges), and Wilbarger. You may be required to bring food to some sessions.
    • consultation with parent(s) and caregiver(s) on how to best support and advance the child’s on-going feeding and eating skills

EXAMPLES OF MY CLIENTS

Babies and Children who:

  • may have had difficult prenatal or birth experiences including: stressful prenatal life, long birth, birth with medical interventions, separation from mother at time of birth and/or any other event that was perceived as stressful by the baby
  • are stressed and having difficulty relaxing
  • are struggling with attention, learning, self-regulation, anger or mood issues, getting along with others (siblings, peers, parents, teachers), low self-esteem
  • are having difficulty feeding or eating ( I specialize in complex eating issues including: infant feeding, oral-motor issues, food selectivity, food aversion/phobia, and children who are partially or fully G-tube fed). *Home/hospital visits are available for newborns who are having difficulty growing and thriving.
  • may have had medical interventions that have left residual stress on the body, heart and mind
  • demonstrate puzzling symptoms or behaviours that seem to have no logical explanation

I have worked with children and families for over 30 years, including 20 years as a children’s therapist, with special interests in neuroscience, attachment, mental health and feeding therapy.

Parents-to-be/Parents who:

  • want to learn more about conscious conception and pregnancy
  • wish to connect with their unborn child at a deep soul level
  • experienced a difficult pregnancy or birth that did not unfold as planned or expected
  • are seeking new ways to connect with their child’s mind and heart
  • are seeking a fresh approach to parenting highly sensitive, spirited and gifted children
  • are wishing to communicate soul-to-soul with their child who has difficulty communicating with words (e.g., babies, very young children, those who are non-verbal, selectively mute, mute)

Families who:

  • are seeking a new approach to more mindful, peaceful and compassionate living
  • wish to add spiritual and/or energetic dimensions to their celebrations (e.g., welcoming ceremonies for babies, connection ceremonies for families)
  • have a member who is seriously or chronically ill, or palliative

Adults who:

  • want to learn to be more mindful and conscious in their everyday lives
  • are wishing to gain clarity, experience relief, and restore balance in their lives
  • are seeking new ways of recovery from childhood and developmental stress and trauma
  • are exploring the answer to the question “Who am I?” or “Why am I here?”
  • are letting go of old patterns and ways of being
  • are awakening spiritually and/or struggling with ascension symptoms such as chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, pain, and other “mysterious” symptoms
  • are in roles and relationships that are new, changing or ending (e.g., role/relationship changes related to separation, divorce, illness or disability )
  • are seriously or chronically ill, or palliative. *Home/hospital visits are available for this group of clients.
